About Chilliwack Digital Photo Club
With about 12 strong active members the club meets every other Tuesday
at Mikio Kambara's residence on Sunrise Drive.
The knowledge and skill level of the members varies from that of beginners to pros', but
the main focus is to enjoy exchanging knowledge and ideas in a very friendly atmosphere. The photography should be fun!!!
The digital photography differs from conventional film-based photography; particularly colour photos,
where the equipment you use and the lab that processes the film and prints mainly determine the quality of the final print.
In digital photography, much the same as good, old black and white photography, not only the quality of
equipment and, of course your skill, but also how you process digital files in your computer influence the quality.
And this is called " digital darkroom".
In the club meeting we do a group critiquing of the images brought by the members, learn photography in
general and the technical aspect of the digital darkroom and exchange knowledge and experience on various subjects.
We are very thankful for the kind offer by Mrs. Asai Wu-Brandt who has provided the opportunity for us
to show our work in her gallery. This is our first group show and eight (8) members are participating. The theme of the show is "Nature".
The prints are created by beginners to pro level members. But one thing in common among the exhibitors is each
had fun in taking images, processing, printing and framing!!! The photography is fun!!!
